Marketplace Fee Calc Guide

About Marketplace Fee Calc

Marketplace Fee Calc is built and maintained by a small independent team that sells on online marketplaces and got tired of guessing what a sale would actually net. There is no single author byline here: the same two or three people write the pages, build the calculators and check the fee figures.

The site exists because marketplace fee pages are accurate but hard to apply. They tell you a percentage; they do not tell you what is left after your item cost, your label and your packaging. Each calculator here takes the published rates, applies them to one sale, and shows the profit line.

Figures come only from the marketplaces’ own fee pages: eBay: selling fees and Etsy: Fees & Payments Policy. eBay’s rates were last checked on 19 September 2026. Etsy’s fee page blocks automated checks, so its rates were cross-checked on 21 September 2026 against several independent references rather than read from Etsy directly; they agreed on every figure, but the Etsy defaults should still be confirmed against the rates shown in your own Etsy Payment account. We re-check both pages at least twice a year, and sooner whenever a marketplace announces a fee change. Each page carries the date its figures were checked.

If a number here does not match what the marketplace charged you, we want to know. Send the sale details and the fee page you are reading through the contact page and we will correct it or explain the difference. This site is independent and is not affiliated with Etsy, Inc. or eBay Inc.
